FOSS FTW

I don’t know how it started again. Maybe it was the YouTube video I saw about using Ubuntu Touch on a Pixel 3a XL. Then probably the new Raspberry Pi 5, wiping a Chromebook for someone locally, I’m back in tinkering mode is what I’m saying. Even The Verge is back on this stuff with an episode of The Vergecast about self-hosting.

If the gadget came back about 5 years ago, FOSS and mad tinkering is back now. It’s enjoying a resurgence for sure, and suddenly the idea of using a phone as a desktop seems like a cool future thing I want to do again.

Anyway, please do enjoy this episode. It’s fascinating stuff.

Interview with Lukasz Erecinski

Talking about open source software and hardware projects. Pine 64 sound nifty!
